The MT series is one of the Yamaha motorbike series that carries the concept of producing torque as much as possible. For those who don’t know, the name MT itself means Master of Torque which means the motor offers large torque when riding.

The naming of the MT series itself is used by Yamaha globally for naked sport motorbike products which are also used as the basis for the R series motorbikes in its class.

The MT series motorbikes first appeared through the MT-01 concept motorbike which appeared at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999. At that time, the MT-01 used a large V-Twin-type engine with a capacity of 1,670 cc with a power of 88.9 hp / 4,750 rpm and 150 torque. , 3 Nm / 3,750 rpm.

From the early prototypes to the current generation, the MT series uses the ‘Kodo’ design concept which is Japanese for the heartbeat. The “Kodo” concept can be felt by users thanks to the combination of the booming engine sound and the torque boost generated by the motorcycle.

Currently, the engine type of the Yamaha MT series itself is very complete, starting from the MT-10, MT-09, MT-07, MT-25, and MT-15 which have also been present to complement the Yamaha MT series family.

So, when viewed from the concept and design presented, this motorbike really wants to fulfill the desire of bikers who want a naked motorbike with a fierce engine.

That’s why the Yamaha MT series family has a large torque that is ready to grab the rider when opening the throttle from low rotation AKA low RPM.

Yamaha MT-07

Well, for the latest Yamaha MT-07 engine specs, it is equipped with a 2-cylinder Crossplane with a capacity of 689 cc with a maximum power of 73.7 hp and a torque of 68 Nm / 6,500 rpm.

Yamaha MT-07

Meanwhile, the MT-09 carries a Crossplane 3-cylinder inline engine with a capacity of 847 cc, with 113.4 hp and 87.5 Nm / 8,500 rpm of torque. In addition to the engine with large power and torque, the frightening design adopted is also an advantage of this naked sports motorbike.

The combination of the inline engine configuration and the Crossplane fairing order will produce a large amount of torque and is very good in passing corners. This will provide a very pleasant riding experience.
