Misano, San Marino: Monster Energy Yamaha racer, Valentino Rossi, he is still happy even though he failed to reach the podium at the MotoGP San Marino 2020. Because there is another thing that makes The Doctor; Rossi’s nickname is satisfied; the YZR-M1 speed.

The Italian racer was very comfortable riding the YZR-M1 in the race which took place at the Misano Circuit, Sunday, 13 September 2020. Rossi enjoyed his home race even though he only finished fourth.

“We have a very good pace and I feel comfortable with the bike. So, even without a podium, I enjoyed it, “said Rossi, adapting from the official Yamaha website, Monday on September 14, 2020.

Rossi’s neat appearance at the Misano Circuit has been seen since the start of the race. He finished second shortly after the race started. Rossi was behind the Petronas Yamaha SRT racer, Franco Morbidelli, who led the race.

Morbidelli took first place from Rossi’s team-mate Maverick Vinales, who took the pole position in qualifying. Meanwhile, the third position is occupied by Jack Miller from Pramac Ducati.

Morbidelli got some distance with the riders behind him after gobbling up a few laps. Rossi, who was trying to catch Morbidelli, was actually preoccupied with resistance from Suzuki Ecstar racer Alex Rins.

Rins, who was previously able to overtake Miller, is now eyeing second place. Rossi also focused on his fight with Rins. Rossi did the brakes slowly at every corner to close the gap for Rins.

Rins has a hard time breaking through The Doctor’s defense. As the fight took place, Pramac Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia, slowly approached Rins and Rossi. Apart from Bagnaia, Rins’ teammate Joan Mir also enlivened the podium hunt.

After several fierce battles, Bagnaia was able to overtake Rins and Rossi. Bad luck befell Rins again because Mir was able to overtake him so that the fourth position changed hands.

Rossi is trying to reclaim second place, but it is not easy to do so. Bagnaia appeared neatly in blocking every attack by The Doctor. Rossi’s attempt to take second place proved disastrous on the last lap as Mir found an opening to overtake. Mir was finally able to take third place from Rossi just before the finish line.

Rossi failed to get the podium that was in sight. However, that did not make Rossi despair. He made the results of the 2020 San Marino MotoGP as provisions for the next race which will also take place at the Misano Circuit. The next race which will take place on Sunday, September 20, will be titled the 2020 Emilia-Romagna MotoGP.

“It was a great weekend for our team and me because we are always competitive. This is very important. I think we can improve three or four things for next week when we have another chance. This makes me even happier because we can try again, ”he concluded.
