Kawasaki racer, Jonathan Rea won his 100th victory in the Superbike World Championship (WSBK).
Victory in the first race at the Motorland Aragon Circuit, on Saturday (May 22, 2021), made him enter the elite list as winners of 100 or more wins in the motor racing world championship.
The result also makes Rea feel that he is on the same level as Valentino Rossi, who has amassed the top 115 positions throughout his career.
Not only that, the man from Northern Ireland also feels that he is on par with the MotoGP legend, Giacomo Agostini, who has the most wins in the history of the world motorcycle racing championships with 122 times.
“I grew up dreaming of being the best racer in the world. I’ve tasted motocross, Supersport and then WSBK. I am very impressed with my career so far, “
said Rea as reported by Motosan.
“It’s fantastic to be level with Rossi and Agostini, but I only focus on myself and want to do my best.”
he added
However, Jonathan Rea doesn’t think about numbers at all and just wants to focus on doing each race well.
“To be honest, I’ve never looked at the numbers, even though I’m already close to being 100th success,”
he said.
“In 2009, I won my first race at Misano and didn’t expect to have 100 wins in my career.
he added
“The most important thing is to conquer the world title at the end of the season and become number one in October.”

However, Rea is proud to be able to record the greatest achievements of a racer.
“I dedicate this success to my father and mother, because I can be here thanks to their struggles and sacrifices,”
He said
“I am also a father now, and realize the importance of a child. I always try to enjoy moments with my family when I have free time. “
He added
The 34-year-old man also did not forget to express his gratitude to Kawasaki who has brought him much success. Given that since joining Kawasaki in 2015, he has transformed into a frightening racer.
“I am very happy with the start of this season. Kawasaki has worked hard to build the bike to be the best and we managed to win, “
He said
“A big thank you to all staff from management to mechanics. Everyone is working hard on this project. “
