Brackley, England: Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton wants to stay loyal to Mercedes. He said he had no plans to leave Mercedes in the near future.
As is known, Hamilton will be undergoing his 11th season with the Silver Arrow – Mercedes nicknamed – in F1 2023. Although this 2022 season he has not won at all and has gone badly enough for his team, there are no signs that he will leave.
In fact, Mercedes Team CEO, Toto Wolff, revealed that the British driver could continue with Mercedes for five more seasons. As a result, it made it clear that his romantic relationship with the Brackley-based team would continue for a long time.
Hamilton also responded positively to his boss’s words. Because according to him, there are still things to be achieved with Mercedes and maybe that includes breaking the record as the driver with the most F1 championship collections, namely eight trophies.
“Maybe, yes (will stay five more years at Mercedes), I feel good. I like what I do,”
said Hamilton, quoted from F1i
“We have a lot of work to do, a lot to achieve. So I’m not planning on going anywhere anytime soon.”
He said
It didn’t stop there, the 37-year-old racer even had long-term plans with Mercedes. Therefore, he made it clear that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with the Silver Arrow.
“It’s not that I’m not sure how much longer I will stay at Mercedes, I know what I want to do. I plan to stay longer,”
said the former McLaren driver.
“Just don’t know how long. To be sure, I plan to stay with Mercedes for the rest of my life,”
he added.
“It’s more about figuring out what we’re going to do. Even outside the racetrack I want to build something with Mercedes and there’s a lot Mercedes can do, it’s not just car manufacturers.”
