China is the world’s largest auto market. The consumers there have very diverse tastes and are very savage about automotive products. That’s why it’s not wrong if China is the main destination for almost all automotive manufacturers in the world, as well as for the luxury supercar manufacturer, Lamborghini.
That’s why it’s not wrong if the floor of the Shanghai Auto Show 2021, which took place on April 21-28, became the debut stage for the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 hypercar. Previously, Lamborghini, with a limited production of only 40 units worldwide, was launched virtually last year.
Born to race on a racing track, the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is equipped with a V12 engine that produces 830 hp. That much power is channeled to the two rear wheels via a sequential 6-speed X-trac transmission. This car is claimed to have a power-weight ratio of 1.66 hp / kg. Not only that, the Essenza can also generate a downforce of 1,200 kg when running at a speed of 250 km / hour.
This performance is achieved thanks to the many aerodynamic elements throughout the body of this car. Just look at the big hind wings. The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is designed accordance to the racing safety standards set by the FIA.
Lamborghini Huracan STO
In addition to showing the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 to the public, the Italian manufacturer also displayed the Lamborghini Huracan STO. Different from the Essenza SCV12, the Huracan STO is a racing car that is legal for use on the highway because it has passed homologation. Even so, the technology adopted from the racing track is still installed in the car that uses the 640 hp V10 engine with a peak torque of 565 Nm.
Out of the womb of Sant’Agata in Bolognese, the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 can run from rest to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds. It turns out that it’s not just the V10 engine that is placed in the middle of the vehicle that makes this car have superior performance on the road.
The attention to vehicle detail is paid to an extent. For example, Lamborghini uses a lot of carbon fiber material in all parts of the vehicle. The uniqueness of this material allows Lamborghini to be able to make the hood, wheel fenders and front bumper into one complete component. After all, it becomes difficult if you want to access the part under the hood on his nose? Lamborghini creates a 3D-printed key that is used to open the front of the vehicle body.
Huracan STO also has three driving modes, namely STO for normal driving, Trofeo when racing and Pioggia when it’s raining. Just press a button, in three seconds all vehicle settings are indirect, in accordance to the mode chosen by the driver.
Interestingly, each Huracan STO is equipped with a multimedia system screen with the Lamborghini UNICA application. This application is connected to the Lamborghini Connected Cloud which can show statistics or performance data while driving on the highway.
