Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in September 1933, this company was an automated weaving mill company. Then on August 27, 1937, the car division of this company was separated to create a car for daily transportation. Started by a textile industry company, now Toyota becomes a leading automotive company around the world. It is conceivable that this company can produce one unit of a car within 6 seconds.

Sakichi Tayoda

Compared to the same automotive company which other companies use the name of the founder as a company brand such as Honda founded by Soichiro Honda, Daimler-Benz, Ford, and Yamaha, the founder of Toyota did not list his name in the company brand. The founder was Sakichi Tayoda, from Japan. The beginning of the naming of this company due to the inconvenience in naming Toyoda’s name and later changed to Toyota.

Another reason was in writing the word ‘Toyota’ using katakana only required 8 brush strokes. In Japan, the number 8 is strongly believed to be a cause of prosperity and fortune. While the word of Toyoda means a fertile field. So, the name to Toyota was changed in order to prevent the company’s image from the agricultural field.

Sakichi Toyoda was born in February 1867 in Shizuoka, Japan. He had been known as an inventor since he was a teenager. He also devoted his life to studying and developing various textile assemblies. At the age of 30 years, Toyoda finished weaving machines and then bring him to the establishment of Toyota, by name Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, Ltd in early November 1926.

The sale of the patent in automatic textile machines which were sold to Platt Brothers & Co., Ltd. from the UK, United Kingdom capital became the budget of the development in automotive division. In early 1933, Toyoda began to build an automotive division, which was later controlled by his son Kiichiro Toyoda, continuing to produce the leading innovations of his era. In 1934, a type A engine was successfully completed. The, it was transplanted the first prototype of passenger car, A1 a year later. Toyoda Automotive Division also produced truck model G1.

In 1936, the Toyota’s company launched passenger cars for the first time under the name Toyoda AA developed from the prototype A1 model and completed body and A engine. It was a hope that it would become a car for people. After running 4 years, the company finally took off from the textile industry. Then in 1937, the company was legalized into an automotive company under the name of Toyota.

In that year, 1937, it was an important era of the birth of Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. because it was the beginning of the company success, Toyota Motor Corp. The spirit and innovation of Kiichiro Tayoda are never gone. The evidence is Toyota Motor Corporation continues to grow by producing various kinds of vehicles with the latest type until now. As the famous of Toyota company products, this company was not even aware that it had absolutely no logo.

Finally, in 1989, the Toyota’s company created a logo with two oval circles (ellipse) that the merger of these circles produced the letter T and the third ellipse implied the unity of car product design of Toyota’s company. The existence of the third circle surrounds the two circles is evidence of keeping and influencing surrounding places. In 1990, Toyota Motor Corporation proved that the Japanese car was able to compete with European and American cars.

In Asia, this company proves that the car with Toyota brand is best sold in the market. We can see that most people use Toyota brand on every street and places. It proves that Toyota car is a car produced in the community and it is suitable with the needs of the customers. The products of this brand are Innova, Innova Reborn, Fortuner, Altis, and other products have the standard cost and those are the affordable cost for people. That’s why this car becomes the most favorite for people.
