What do people know about Honda? This name is absolutely a famous brand of an automotive company which produces vehicles such as car and motorbike as the important transportation for people. In several countries, most people have one of the product from Honda. The creator is Soichiro Honda, he was born in 1906 who is a Japanese engineer.
This company began to be established in 1948 which in the development of the production, this company made the multinational transportation, car, and motorcycle. In his childhood, Honda was born in Tenryu Shizuoka and lived in his hometown located under Mount Fuji near Hamamtsu. He spent his childhood helping his father, Gihei, who was a blacksmith with a business of bicycle reparation.
Honda was a child who had no interest in traditional education. Even Soichiro was caught in doing fraud by making his family stamp from the rubber pedal cover of a bicycle. Since toddler Honda was very interested in the automotive world, he was fascinated by the beauty of the car he first saw in the place he lived and never even forgot the smell of oil he kissed at the time. Soichiro also borrowed one of his father’s bikes to see a demonstration of the airplane that flown by a pilot named Art Smith who became a root of his love for machines and an automotive invention.
Starting his career in the automotive world, Honda got a chance for internship one of the reparation shop in Tokyo, Art Shokai car reparation shop in 1922, as a cleaning service. He was a very persistent person and collected his salary every month only to borrow books about automotive in the library. On one day, Honda was asked by the owner of the reparation shop to help the work of automotive division because all employees were very busy of many consumers at that time.
Honda got a chance to repair the Ford Model T in 1908 which at that time, this car was very famous for a luxury car. From his skill in the repairing machine, Honda got the trust to become a technician in the reparation shop. Finally, in 1928, Honda began to open a car reparation shop in Hamamatsu city then it became the beginning of the history of his company establishment, Honda.
No need to take a long time, 3 years later his reparation became very large and very famous in Hamamatsu at that time and the employees reached 50 persons. In 1933, Soichiro Honda succeeded to make his dream came true in creating a first racing car. Unfortunately, the engine of his first car was a machine from an airplane, Curtis A1, which was called Honda Curtis. And in the same year, Honda began learning about the Ring Piston then it started his career as a creator of the motorcycle.
On September 24, 1945, Soichiro Honda, assisted by Takeo Fujisawa succeeded to establish his first motor factory, Honda Motor Company. Then the company began to produce a complete motorcycle, Chimney, which was sold until 1951. In 1949, Soichiro also created a Type-D motorcycle and was a motorcycle that really completed with a steel-trap frame designed by himself. This is the first model in Dream Series of Motorcycles in his life.
Soichiro also succeeded in transforming the company from domestic to a multinational level that generates profits up to billions of dollars and it was the best-selling motorcycle company in the world. Even his company could have the higher level than Triumph and Harley-Davidson in the international market. In 1959, Honda Motorcycles opened the first dealership in the United States and began to come into the Isle Of Man TT which in 1960 followed the World GP and won the world champion 125cc, 250cc, and 350cc with his own motorcycles, RC143, and RC162 4-Stroke. These motorbikes were the legend of the GP racing world.
The success of Soichiro Honda was a legend in the automotive industry and his company is growing every year. The Honda’s company not only produces motorcycles but also produce vehicles especially cars. And nowadays, cars and motorbike which part of Honda’s company become very famous and many people interest to have it because of the affordable price suit as the people needs.
