Chrysler Group, LLC is one of the car companies in the United States which was founded in 1925. This company has the head office in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Chrysler Group generally produces various vehicles such as sedans, sports cars and also luxury cars that the prices are quite high and special for high-class people. Chrysler Group, LLC is wholly owned by Cerberus Capital Management after Daimler AG also became the largest shareholder only until 2007. Then on June 10, 2009, Chrysler announced that the company was bankrupt and conducted cooperation with Fiat’s company.

Walter P. Chrysler

In early June, precisely on June 3, 2011, Fiat bought the whole shares of Chrysler’s company that owned by the United States government at that time by purchasing the shares in the amount of 500 million US dollars and made it as the largest shareholder and the owner of the company up to 52%. At the beginning of the Chrysler Group, LLC establishment, it belonged to Walter P. Chrysler as the founder on June 6, 1925, when Maxwell Motor Company’s, founded in 1904, was being reorganized into Chrysler Corporation. Walter P. Chrysler had initially entered and took up positions at the Maxwell Chamles automobile company in the early 1920s.

Then Walter got promoted and recruited by the company to take over the Maxwell Corp company and improve the conditions of the company that was going through bankrupt and chaos. At the end of 1923, production of Chalmers Automobile finally had to be stopped because of bankruptcy. At the beginning of 1924 precisely in January, Walter P. Chrysler produced and launched the car with a new brand, Chrysler 70. This car had a 6-cylinder engine technology system with excellent quality and safe driving. The car also had a very affordable price among the people of the United States at that time.

The first Chrysler was launched by Walter in 1924 and had been completed with high-compression engine carburetor air filters, high-pressure lubrication and an oil filter in which most of the similar type of these cars that were launched in their era were not completed with tech features like Chrysler. Another innovation found in the first car was the use of hydraulic brakes that were used on the four wheels of cars in the mass production of cars for the first time. Chrysler even became one of the pioneers in the assembly and installation of the machine with rubber so it could reduce the vibration when driving the car.

Finally, after the launch of a car that created by Walter with the Chrysler brand, then, in the end, the car with the Maxwell brand was dissolved and not in production again in 1925. The advances in technology that was used by Walter on Chrysler car made the company, which the first were named as Maxwell and changed to Chrysler. It became the company with the second largest car sales in the United States in 1936. This new company succeeded to survive until 1949 until finally the company was taken over by the United States government.

After the company decided to spin off Imperial as a separate brand in 1955, Chrysler became a second-brand company, but still offers luxury and best products. One of the car product from Chrysler was the new Newport Chrysler. After the Imperial brand was going down in 1975, Chrysler was back in a position of high-priced luxury cars and the car came into the high-class car like Lexus and other the brand of luxury car. During the 1980s, Chrysler Division expanded the product line and the target market around the world.

The Chrysler car brand also took the same role as Oldsmobile, Buick or Mercury by offering Entry-Level luxury cars with the various sizes. After the Plymouth Mobile line (which was sold at car dealership alongside the Chrysler brand was discontinued, the Chrysler Division was marketed in the form of an economic or standard car like Cruiser’s company to a Prowler sports car alongside traditional style with the high-class brands such as 300C and LHS. However, this brand is still rarely used in the Asia area. Besides, the car was still the good brand in the United States.
