The car’s light is one of the most important components to drive especially at night. Most of the latest cars have been using Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights. In addition to the use of LED lights also have Daytime Running Light (DRL) lamp. Then what is the difference between the two lights?
DRL light is not new in the automotive world. In recent years car manufacturers have installed DRL lights on every car production.
Nowadays, more and more car manufacturers has been applying DRL lights for their latest products such as New Audi A4 2018 and Honda Civic 2018. Functions, in addition to beautifying the look, as well as for safety features drive. For example when passing on a dark road or when passing through a tunnel you will not feel bothered by turning the lights on.
DRL lights function is not only as an accessory but also more means of communication from vehicle to other riders so DRL lights will be lights up continuously both day and night.
LEDs main function is as the lighting system in the main lights that replace the role of ordinary bulbs, such as halogen and HID. The placement of DRL and LEDs is generally different, some are separate from the main lights, some of which are incorporated into the main lamp houses.
So basically, it is very obvious the difference between DRL and LED, DRL is the purpose for the sake of safety. While the LED is the type of light that is applied to the main light or headlamp.
