Hamamatsu, Japan: The name of Jorge Lorenzo is rumored to be the choice Suzuki Ecstar team to replace Andrea Iannone position as a partner of Alex Rins in MotoGP 2019. Not without reason, Suzuki sure the Spanish rider is very compatible with their motorcycle, GSX-RR. The X-Fuera (Lorenzo’s nickname) was also expected to repeat his achievements into three-time MotoGP World Champion as he had accomplished with Yamaha Movistar Team.
After ending a challenging season with Ducati last year, this season Lorenzo is struggling to perform well with the Desmosedici GP18. From the two races that have been undertaken, Lorenzo only gets one point only.
The news about Lorenzo who still trying to adapt to Ducati, or switch to Suzuki continued to blow hard. Less satisfactory on the two latest races and the rise of Andrea Dovizioso, making the position of the main racer in Ducati threatened. That means Lorenzo will not get a salary of 12 million euros, or about 10.3 million pounds per year if he remains with Ducati in 2019.
However, the Ducati said they still provide an opportunity to the former Movistar Yamaha rider. The Italian manufacturer team is also still hoping Lorenzo can triumph with Ducati as they once felt with Casey Stoner in 2007.
The 2018 MotoGP 2018 series in Austin, Texas will determine the future of the Spanish rider. Lorenzo will also be faced with the choice of whether to stay with Ducati or not, but with unequal pay as he came in 2017, or join Suzuki Team who also will not pay as much as he gets in Ducati.
Meanwhile, Rins own potential to get a contract extension with Suzuki by the end of the season. This is not apart from his impressive appearance in the second series of MotoGP Argentina. At that time, the Spanish rider was able to finish in third place.
Different things experienced by their main racer, Andrea Iannone. The Japanese manufacturer team will not keep Iannone. That’s because Iannone failed to serve as the Suzuki main racer since joining in 2017.
