Doha, Qatar: On the sidelines of the MotoGP 2021 pre-season test preparation which took place at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, the Suzuki Ecstar team finally showed off their latest motorbike. The Japanese manufacturer team showed the 2021GSX-RR motorbike which is certainly ready to give another surprise this season.

Of course, many people are curious about the appearance of the motorbike of the team, one of which became the MotoGP world champion last season. Many people want to know how the livery and the engine of the motorbike will be used by Joan Mir and Alex Rins in 2021.

All these questions were finally answered today, Saturday (March 6, 2021). Finally, Suzuki Escstar showed off their latest bike for MotoGP 2021.

Interestingly, the livery used in MotoGP 2021 is not too different from last year’s. It’s hard to see the difference between the new and the old.

Mir was also seen wearing number 36, a number that has become his mainstay. The 2020 MotoGP world champion seems reluctant to wear number 1, which is said to be able to bring disaster.

Because during the last decade, two racers who wore number 1 after the world champion, in the following year actually appeared sluggish or failed to win again. These riders are Jorge Lorenzo in the 2011 MotoGP and Casey Stoner at the 2012 MotoGP World Championship.

So, it seems that Mir chose to play it safe by sticking to the number 36 in front of his motorcycle and helmet. Interestingly, Mir admitted that actually there was still number 1. He said that he still put that number on his motorbike.

In the launch of the Suzuki Ecstar team for MotoGP 2021, the team did it right in the Losail Circuit area. The team leaders such as Ken Kawauchi and Shinichi Sahara were also present along with the Suzuki crew.

After explaining the targets and what was new for MotoGP 2021, the Suzuki bosses just called Mir and Rins who came with their latest motorbike. Interesting, of course, will Suzuki be able to maintain its slick performance in MotoGP in 2021 like last season?

The inaugural race for the new 2021 MotoGP will take place on March 28, 2021. The first race is the Qatar MotoGP 2021 which was also held at the Losail Circuit, Qatar.
