The car is one of technology that has functioned as a tool of land transportation. As the development of technology in the whole world, the advance of car technology certainly increases every year in the parts of models (styles), shapes and machines which have many changes. Most people know about a car brand, Porsche. When the people hear this car brand, they will imagine about high price car with the stylish shape and a part of the luxury car. Porsche is a very classic car, it is also included in the category of sports cars that have been famous in the world. The fame of this car never lost since the 1900s. The car series of this brand which is known by many people until now are Porsche 911, Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Grand Turismo.

This brand name was taken from the name of the founder, Ferdinand Porsche, he was an Austrian automotive engineer. Ferdinand was born on September 3, 1875. He had shown his interest in the field of electricity and technology. At the age of 18 years old, he has worked at the electrical company in Vienna who was also one of the students at Imperial Technical University. In 1907, Ferdinand Porsche made an engine design with a wheel-hub concept, and 3 years later the machine is used on non-transmission vehicles made by Hofwagenfabrik Jacob Lohner & Co’s.

At the end of 1900, Ferdinand tested his work in the arena of Summering circuit races. He succeeded to win and made the name of a Ferdinand Porsche became more famous in the automotive world at that time. In 1906, Ferdinand Porsche worked at Daimler’s company, as manager. Ferdinand was one of the agencies that supervised the construction of Mercedes Compressor. The career of Porsche is getting well as it requires himself to quit his job as a manager and then build his own company.

Ferdinand Porsche finally established his own automotive company under the name Dr. Ing H.C.F. Porsche GmbH, which had the head office in the country he was born, Austria. Initially his company’s line as in consulting development and car production, without having to do the assembly process itself. However, there was something else that Germany government wanted, the Ferdinand Porsche’s company was asked to produce cars for society or Volkswagen.

In the end, Porsche had succeeded in producing the Volkswagen Beetle, which from making the car, the car became historic car and as one of the most successful cars sold in the market. Even in the 1950s, components of VW, such as transmission and suspense were also widely used as machine tools to produce Porsche cars. But the Porsche’s company had obstacles in getting spare parts in the post-World War II period that forced Porsche to produce the own spare parts.

The company owned by Ferdinand Porsche was more growing. In 1972, this company initially was a family company, then Ferdinand changed it into a company that involved non-family people. After that, they formed board of directors that includes people outside the Porsche family. However, this company was still under control of the Porsche family as a supervisory board. After Ferdinand Porsche died, the company was then controlled by his son, Anton Ernst Porsche. Porsche Company was growing more and even its name was known throughout the world as a production company of sports-classic cars which is most wanted by the world community.

As already explained in the beginning, this company was a successful manufacturer of automotive that created the legendary sports car. One of them was Porsche 911 which was first produced in 1963 and this car was the best-selling Porsche company car all of the time. Porsche was a company that was famous as the production of the super-fast sports car. Until now Porsche continues to expand the successful by continuing to produce sports cars such as SUVs, Porsche SUVs.

In a variety of movie shows and famous books, there are a lot of Porsche cars which featured as a symbol of the main character and as a symbol of the success of a person. The success will never exist without various obstacles, Porsche’s company also had experiences about facing many obstacles but it is still successful in producing car until now.
