HRC engineers focused on engine power to deliver an unbeatable weapon to Marc Marquez. In this 2020 MotoGP, Cal Crutchlow will continue to be equipped with an official Honda RC213V specification for 2020, equivalent to Marc Marquez and his brother Alex Marquez. From the results of the initial tests in Sepang, Malaysia apparently did not bring big changes compared to last year. There were no significant improvements when the motorcycle entered the corner, Honda Marquezentris, Marc’s telemetry data were useless!

In 2020, the character of the RCV213 2020 remained a bike made following around the Spaniard’s style, Marquezentris as like before. Cal Crutchlow said he didn’t need to study Marc’s telemetry data. The racing style of the Cervera biker still cannot be imitated by anyone, especially for a veteran like Cal Crutchlow.

That means the RC213V 2020 prototype motor remains difficult to be tamed by other racers. The Spaniard was able to adapt immediately due to the technique especially when entering the corner, using the rear brakes more than other racers. “He uses the rear brake more than anyone else to slow down his motorbike,” Cal Crutchlow said. Where Cal Crutchlow admitted the difficulty of using the rear brake. He didn’t, it was very complicated.

Testing Also Depends on Marquez

The critical point RC213V is the first part of deceleration when the engine brake starts. In the Sepang MotoGP test, Cal reported that feelings with the front of the motor did not seem to improve. And in Qatar, for a short time, it is unlikely that there will be change. Cal Crutchlow did several test tasks, but the evolution depends on Marc Marquez.

This is not a mystery, nor is it a secret anymore and the decision seems indisputable. Since he arrived at Honda in 2015, Cal Crutchlow has tried to study Marquez’s telemetry data but did not succeed. “I followed Marc for four years, I saw telemetry in all free practice and during all weekend competitions and tests. In the end, you have to forget about telemetry and do it your own way, because nobody drives a motorcycle like Marc “.

Last year Crutchlow ranked ninth position in MotoGP, with 133 points. Three podiums and no wins, even though he has an official spec motorbike.
