Jerez, Spain: Ducati Corse Team rider Jorge Lorenzo is reluctant to blame anyone for a domino collision incident in MotoGP Spain 2018 which took place at the Jerez circuit on Sunday, May 6, 2018, local time. He also did not want himself blamed in an accident that also afflicted teammate Andrea Dovizioso and Repsol Honda rider, Dani Pedrosa.
Lorenzo was always strong when appearing in Jerez must experience disaster when hope to return to the podium appears. Had led at the beginning of the race, but misfortune should befall him while trying to fight for the second position with Dovizioso.
Opportunity for Ducati to climb the podium through two racers also must be vanished, when Pedrosa stalking both riders in the fourth position. When Lorenzo and Dovizioso are fighting for the second place, no one thinks Pedrosa is also trying to overtake, and accidents cannot be avoided.
Due to Pedrosa’s position was too close to Lorenzo and Dovizioso, then all these three were involved in a domino collision. Pedrosa who fell first hit Lorenzo who then dragged Dovizioso who was just right behind him.
All three were dropped and failed to continue the race. Lorenzo felt there was no need to blame each other in these circumstances. Racer nicknamed X-Fuera was very sure that there was no hidden intent of the accident, other than purely because of destiny.
“Images and video replays clearly show the situation. I do not want to talk too much about it or make mistakes. We are the three most fair riders in this championship. This is a very unfortunate maneuver that brought all three riders into a fall, “said Lorenzo, quoting from Speedweek’s website.
Lorenzo has deeply regretted his teammate, Dovizioso who must be dragged in the accident. The reason he is very respectful to the runner-up MotoGP 2017 is struggling to fight for the world title this season.
“We were never involved in an accident like that. Everything went very fast. Dani was there. We were unable to prevent our bike from falling. Everything happens like dominoes. Unfortunately for us as riders, but especially for Ducati and Dovizioso in terms of world title fight, “he added.
However, Lorenzo reluctantly blames Pedrosa who started the drama in the domino accident. However, he insisted that The Little Spaniard (Pedrosa’s nickname) should have known the condition because Pedrosa was right behind him and also behind Dovizioso.
“I did not know Pedrosa was right behind me. We do not have eyes in the back. Only the rider in the back who has the general picture and must be responsible. It was Dani (Pedrosa). But Dani, me and Dovi were involved. So I do not want to blame anyone, “he concluded.
