Lamborghini introduces the Gran Turismo V12 Vision concept car during the 2019 world final of the FIA-Certified Gran Turismo Championship, Monte Carlo. Although the status of a concept car, this car can be downloaded at the Gran Turismo game for Playstation 4.

This is not the first time a manufacturer has created a concept to drive in a game. Previously, it had been done by Audi, Citroen, Jaguar, Mercedes, and others as part of the Vision Gran Turismo (GT) project.

Beginning with the GT game founder question, “Would you like to design an ideal GT for us?” In a sense GT is a grand tourer, describing high-performance coupe. From here many brands want to participate, designing ideal GT cars to be represented in the game.

There is a reason why Lambo helped enliven the virtual world and made it a reality. CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Stefano Domenicali explained: “Lamborghini is a very young brand, that’s why we are presenting virtual vision in the form of a real model with a futuristic design so that it can be enjoyed by a generation of young gamers and super sports car enthusiasts.”

The main focus of the design, the single-seater model. Silhouettes imagined according to Lamborghini DNA. Centered in the middle, the cockpit and fender are made separate. The side glass hinted at the 1968 Marzal concept. Another distinctive feature was poured on the Y-shaped front and rear lights. The entire composition, arranged as if to emphasize the aerodynamic side. Moreover, the body element is built from high-performance material.

The design is dramatic

Just like other virtual concepts, the design is very dramatic. The imagination of the designers in the studio of Lamborghini Centro Stille, Sant ‘Agatha Bolognese. It looks like a jet fighter on land, let alone painted green. That is Lamborghini’s identity, always vulgar and trying to be the center of attention. Although futuristic, Lamborghini managed to combine the pitch with harmony. Make it not too busy and lively.

Lamborghini Centro Stile boss Mitja Borkert commented, “Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo was created as the greatest virtual car for fans and gamers who are very enthusiastic about Lamborghini and future aspirations.”

He added, if this is an opportunity for designers to spread their wings, and visualize a car that can turn away all views and provide the best driving experience. Like all Lamborghini ever. In addition, it encourages technology development, especially in the light material and hybridization sectors.

Performance

For the engine, this concept car relies on a unit from Sian FKP37, a V12 6.5 L mild hybrid unit. The greatness of the V12 is integrated with the electrification technology of a supercapacitor advanced battery. This type of battery is said to be three times stronger than lithium-ion at the same size.

Performance support is provided by 48 V electric motors from the gearbox when accelerating or shifting gears. The result, all power extraction reaches 807 hp with 720 Nm of torque. As a comparison, Sian FKP37 is able to cover 100 kph in less than 2.8 seconds. That is the potential of the V12 Vision GT when it comes to reality.
