Brno, Czech Republic: MotoGP racing legend, Casey Stoner, spoke of what Reale Avintia Ducati Team received; Johann Zarco at the MotoGP Czech Republic 2020. Stoner was furious and defended Zarco.

In the race that took place at the Brno Circuit, Czech Republic, Sunday, August 9, 2020, WIB, Zarco was indeed involved in an accident. He bumped into the Red Bull KTM Team rider, Pol Espargaro at the corner of the 10th lap.

Touching each other, and then had a bad impact on Espargaro, causing him to fall and throw him far into the gravel. It angered Espargaro who was actually chasing for a podium place.

Unfortunately, Espargaro had to stop the race, while Zarco was still safe running on his motorbike. However, not long after, Zarco received a long lap penalty for the violation.

This decision then led to various debates on the part of Ducati. They felt Zarco did not deserve the penalty because no fouls had occurred.

Apparently Stoner also felt Ducati’s anger. The former Ducati rider was also upset that Zarco had accepted the punishment. Through his Twitter account, Stoner felt the MotoGP had made a bad decision.

That’s discrasful @MotoGP !@Zarco did nothing wrong, if you run wide you cannot expect to cut back to the curb without anyone being there. Terrible call from the officials.— Casey Stoner (@Official_CS27) August 9, 2020

The loss was clearly experienced by Zarco after getting a long lap penalty. The French rider had to follow a predetermined route and then lost a lot of time.

Even though at that time, Zarco was about to catch up with Franco Morbidelli to fight for second place. However, for this penalty, Zarco failed to approach Morbidelli and had to settle for being third.

Even so, Zarco is quite satisfied because finally, he can feel that he is back on the podium after he last got it in 2018. This is also his first podium with Reale Avintia as well as the highest achievement among other Ducati riders at the MotoGP Czech Republic 2020.
