Achieve the Third Podium, Rossi More Confident in Facing MotoGP 2018

Losail, Qatar: Valentino Rossi feels there is something positive after the Yamaha Movistar racer seized the third podium at the Grand Prix of Qatar on Sunday (3/18/2018) night local time. He hopes to achieve much better results than last year.

In the inaugural series race at Losail Circuit. Rossi who occupies the eighth position pushed into third place early in the race. Although had experienced several changes in position, but he successfully defended it until the race was over.

Rossi finished the race with a record time of 42 minutes 35,451 seconds. The nine-time world champion in four different classes was 0.797 slower than Andrea Dovizioso, who completed the MotoGP series opening race by being on the first podium. “I am very happy, I expect more than last year, with this year’s bike I feel better. Marquez and Dovizioso have something more at the moment. Although I was behind them, but I am very happy to finish the race on the third podium,” said Rossi as quoted from the Express, Monday (3/19/2018).

“Able to get away with Dovizioso and Marquez is very positive, I just made a mistake with (Johann) Zarco, after I tried to be competitive,” he added.

The rider, who has just renewed a two-year contract with the Yamaha team, revealed the problems he faced. He said that the M1 motor actually went very well, only The Doctor tried to press every time to conquer the corner. (Also read: Qatar GP Race Results and MotoGP Standings)

The reason says Rossi, acceleration Desmosedici GP18 motorcycle ridden Dovizioso (Ducati Corse) and RC213V Marquez (Repsol Honda) is much better than Yamaha. “I’m not surprised how the trip is today, I see exactly what I expect, we have to work on the indications we have collected,” said Rossi.

Rossi is now ranked third MotoGP standings with 16 points. Next, The Doctor will appear in the Grand Prix Argentina on 8 April.
